Alright, so for everyone experiencing issues with Steam downloading workshop mods into the wrong folder, I think I may have found a solution. It worked for me anyhow. What I did was I forced Steam and the game to re-download all workshop content from scratch. Here's how: -I manually went through my Steam workshop subscriptions and unsubbed from everything that wasn't for the DE. Currently when I open the game the mods all show up in in the tab and I can turn them on, but they do not show in the game. My understanding is that this is because the mods are downloading to the wrong folder which I verified by checking the two likely download locations. FS17 Mod downloading for steam version? I bought the steam download version of FS17 and can't seem to figure out how to download mods. I have read alot of different things and I dont have the game showing up in my games. Can I change my Workshop download folder? It works if I download mods off the web - games run on the SSD with mods running simultaniously on my secondary drive. Open them with notepad. Because of Steamworks, downloaded mods are kept in the Steam userdata folders, whereas your own personal ones are still in the old mods folder in documents. The path for the steamwork mods is Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\683230711 All of which are compressed archvives.

I have attempted cleaning up my cookedmods folder (inside mod tools), and uploaded but the old files still are downloaded from steam workshop. The path for the steamwork mods is Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\683230711 All of which are compressed archvives. Each folder inside the 'mods' folder is a separate mod. Folder names starting with a number have been downloaded via the game. These numbers correspond to the number in the URL of the workshop item. I'm not sure if the next step is needed, but check if your manually unpacked mod folder name starts with 'mods_' like shown in the picture.
